Somehow it becomes a deep
sad story. Maybe that's why I love Four better than Divergent. It's about the
past. It allows me to learn more about the character. The complexity and
mystery and loneliness are what make him real.
About Four, he has no
one to trust. Not his father, not his former faction, not his new faction. And
he learns this in a hard way, from Amar’s death. And unlike Tris, he
learns this alone. I love his solitude and the way he fights through all these
wonders.
“Vanity. They are so concerned with looking intelligent that they make themselves fools for it.” Then I realize why this whole faction-before-blood thing falls apart. How could you possibly divide contradictory human being into certain factions? We are all different in our very own way. There are always the best and the worst, as well as ugliness and beauty. It’s a beautiful thought. And we are never flawless, which is why I believe Erudite controls Dauntless so easily.
“Careful what you say to anyone, in this
faction that values all the wrong things, that doesn’t understand that when you
come from Abnegation, standing up for yourself, even in small moments, is the
height of bravery.”
