A book set in a different country
A funny book (sometimes it can be really hilarious)
A book you can finish in a day (I couldn’t
put it down)
A book with a love triangle (they’re high
school girls, duh)
A book set in high school
A book set during Christmas
The Mother-Daughter Book Club by Heather Vogel Frederick
“This is incredibly lame.” I just love this
line in Cassidy’s tone. The books are totally awesome, on the contrary. The
last time I read in such desire was probably the Life as We Knew It series, and
I still remember reading it even in math class back in high school (mostly
because the whole moon-being-hit and world-coming-to-the-end thing really
scared me anyway). Now here I am, eager to know everything about those girls,
and keeps asking J about spoilers. It’s true that I feel like these girls come
to life and I am part of it. They are all so different yet they are all so cute
in different ways. It’s a story filled with love and makes me fall in love with
it instantly.
These books practically made me laugh and
cry. One day I was reading while J was doing her homework. And when I got to
the part when Stanley couldn’t hold any secret because his bald head turned
pink when he got nervous, I snickered at first, and J was like, what’s so
funny? I read the part to her and suddenly we both burst into laughter. And it
even got more hilarious as I read it again and again. Not to mention all the
pranks they played. And there were arguments, misunderstandings, and loss, as
we all encounter in life. I figured the reason these books were so touching was
that they were so real. We never know what life would bring us. Occasional surprise
could be good or bad, and sometimes I hate the part that the author made it so
tough, but that was life.
I guess I love the girls because there’s too
much I can relate to. Not the part of being Red Sox fan of course. My favorite
part must be the cafeteria, which is my all-time favorite. I love the part that
even they were in different homeroom and taking different classes, they still
got to sit together to have lunch and talk about everything. And I love the part
that even they were so different, they still made best friends. Sometimes it’s
the difference that brings us together. Through the book club, they had something
in common but on the same time, their difference might be the thing that made
them best friend. They visited Jess’s family farm, went to Cassidy’s hockey
games and pulled out a fashion show by Megan and so on. It was a beautiful
concept.
At the end I was sad to say goodbye to
these girls though I understand that they’ve grown up and learned. It was just
everything has changed and I never liked changes. At least they had their dearest
family and friends altogether and I knew that they’d stick together no matter
what, which is the best part of their lives.
Life is a never ending story.
寫得真好ˊˇˋ想起Jess和她爸爸 Megan對時尚的愛哈哈 其他真的都忘了XD
